Examples of CFG modding can be found in communities for Crysis, Crysis 2, Aion, etc. The ArcheAge CFG Mod is a modification of ArcheAge’s CFG files, which are used by CryEngine for configuring certain global settings. Your max camera distance may not change until you get on and off a mount (and it will be locked to certain distances when you’re on a mount, boat, vehicle, etc). If the mod is working, it should be noticeable from your FOV and motion blur when rotating your camera. If after installation, you get something like “Error: the offset” that means your saphmod folder is in the wrong place. Do not modify files under the “default” folder if you don’t want to risk reinstalling your game and redownloading this mod. In-game, open up options and click apply to ensure that all changes are being updated properly. Run “patch.bat” located in the “saphmod” folder. You can find the game path by going to Settings in Glyph, and then choosing “Live” under “ArcheAge.” Place the “saphmod” folder in your main ArcheAge folder which contains game_pak, typically “C:\Program Files (x86)\Glyph\Games\ArcheAge\Live”. However, this has only been tested on an SSD, so having ArcheAge on an HDD may slow things down. This is to keep frame rate more consistent once you’ve loaded up a zone. Note that you may experience longer initial load times as some streaming, or loading up data as necessary, is disabled.
